The RISE Regional Working Group Face to Face Meeting held in Nepal
The first Face to Face meeting of the RISE Regional working Group of South and Central Asia was held in Kathmandu, Nepal on 23 and 24 February 2016. The meeting was attended by 21 members representing organisations working on child sexual exploitation and other child protection issues.
The countries represented included Pakistan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. The meeting was very successful in creating the synergy among the members, most of whom came together regionally for the first time. Each and every member was able to share their work and experience during the two day meeting and even dance during one of the sessions when one of the members who use dance movement therapy for psycho-social support of children demonstrated a glimpse of the process by experimenting on the members themselves. At the end of the two day meeting the group came up with a regional action plan with some concrete tasks volunteered by members for specific tasks with clear links to improving knowledge and learning on recovery and reintegration of children affected by child sexual exploitation.
